On display at the Russian Academy of Arts are almost fifty paintings and graphic works by Alexander Muraviev, the People’s Artist of Russia, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts.
Alexander Muraviev was born in 1948 in the Irkutsk region. In 1973 he graduated from the Moscow State University of Printing Arts. The artist’s creative range is extremely diverse: from graphic miniatures, bookplates, drawings to animated cartoons and painting. Since 1991, Alexander Muraviev has been a chief artist of the popular children’s literature and art magazine “Sibirichok”. He is actively involved in public activity as a Secretary of the Artists’ Union of Russia and for many years has headed its Irkutsk branch.
Alexander Muraviev is a frequent participant of group exhibitions in Russia, Germany, France, China, Norway, Finland and other countries. His works are in collections of the State History Museum in Moscow, F. Dostoevsky Museum in St. Petersburg, art museums in Omsk, Barnaul, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, as well as in many private collections.
