The Russian Academy of Arts and Photo Center of the Journalists’ Union of  Russia present an exhibition of works by the recognized master of photo portraits Alexei Kondratiev. The show is devoted to prominent Russian women – our contemporaries.

A photographer for the Russian Government, private photographer for seven Heads of the Russian Government, Alexei Kondratiev has dedicated his professional activity to creating portraits of  our outstanding contemporaries playing key roles in the nation’s history.  Alexei Kondratiev has been honored with a number of state and public awards. He is a member of the Journalists’ Union of Russia, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation. In 2004 he was decorated with the Order for Services to Motherland II Rank.

In his black-and-white photo portraits made in the traditions of classical photography, Kondratyev  is keen not only on the official position, but mostly on the peculiar individuality of those who became a focus of his interest. His portraits make the viewers co-participants of home history.
