Date: 20.10.2009 - 08.11.2009
Place: Exhibition halls of the Russian Academy of Arts, 21 Prechistenka street, Moscow

On display at the Russian Academy of Arts are works by Igor Semenikhin distinguished by a mixture of expression and impressionism, color activity and easy pictorial  manner.

Igor Semenikhin was born in Tbilisi in 1955. He graduated from the Tbilisi Academy of Arts.  Since 1985 the artist has been a frequent exhibitor in the republican and international shows.  His works have been on display in Moscow,  Paris, Sopot, Gdansk, Hong Kong. They are in private collection in many countries.

His works full of elegance and light charm have a remarkably integrated plastic structure.  The pictorial surface of his landscapes and genre paintings, which seems to preserve the movements of his fingers, and the nuances of light and shade create an effect of instantaneous impression. The keen observation and artistry of the free moulding lend a psychological intensity to his dynamic genre pictures depicting cock fighting, a Greece dance, gallop of horses at the horse race, a feast, a Paris café, Oriental bazaars and other scenes. Canvases of Igor Semenikhin, painted in bright and pure colors, are full of optimistic feelings and life-asserting.
