HAND LUGGAGE: EXHIBITION OF WORKS BY THE PEOPLE'S ARTIST OF RUSSIA DMITRY TUGARINOV IN MOSCOW

A.N. Ostrovsky Museum presents an exhibition of the People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Professor of V. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute Dmitry Tugarinov – winner in the nomination For Outstanding Achievements in Fine Arts of Nickolai Ostrovsky Prize of the Moscow Mayor. His works “Shoes” and “Sphinx” can be seen in the Museon park of sculptures in Moscow.

Dmitry Tugarinov is an author of the only war memorial in Switzerland: at the altitude of 2100 m on Saint-Gotthard pass there is a sculptural composition of Alexander Suvorov escorted by Anthony Gamba. The exhibition consists of several zones related to different periods in the master’s creative activity and presents his works of various years including sculptures of writers and poets with reading areas where visitors can get acquainted with their literary works, genre scenes of the 1980s, etc. The focus of the exhibition is a sculptural series “Birches” depicting in various materials the non- canonical beauty of female body.
