Solo Show of Works by Zurab Tsereteli in Yoshkar-Ola

On November 1, 2008 the National Art Gallery of the Republic of Mari El presents a  solo show of works by Zurab Tsereteli, President of the Russian Academy of Arts, People’s Artist of the USSR and Russian Federation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. It has been organized by the Ministry of Culture, Press and Nationalities of the Mari El Republic and the Russian Academy of Arts.

The inauguration ceremony will be attended by President of Mari El Leonid Markelov, members of the Republican Government, representatives of the Russian Academy of  Arts.

The exhibition explores the unique multi-sided talent of the artist and covers a wide range of  his audacious searches  in almost all types, genres and media of fine arts. It provides a rare opportunity to see Tsereteli’s works of various years as well as themes to which he has returned throughout his career. Each of his works proves the master’s boundless energy, expressiveness and deep penetration into human souls.

For the last several years,  solo exhibitions of works by Zurab Tsereteli have been on display in many cities of Russia, CIS and other countries including Moscow, St. Petersburg,  Ulyanovsk, Yaroslavl, Bishkek, Lipetsk, Vologda, Sochi, Tula, Penza, Tambov, Minsk, Vitebsk, Voronezh, Obninsk, Saratov, Ryazan, Togliatti, Saransk, Kazan, Pavlov Posad, Nizhni Novgorod,  Izhevsk, Vladimir, Kirov, Perm.  Of big success were his solo shows in the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, in Australia and China.
