Major Retrospective of Works by Anatoly Bichukov in the Russian Academy of Arts

The Russian Academy of Arts presents a major retrospective of works by the prominent Russian sculptor Anatoly Bichukov, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Professor, Rector of V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute, Head of V. Vereshagin Studio of Artists.

Anatoly Bichukov’s creative work comprises all genres of sculpture – easel portraits, monuments, architecture and sculptural projects. Among his major works so diverse in their themes, figurative style and plastic implementation are: monument to Sergei Esenin in Tverskoy boulevard (Moscow); monument “From Grateful Russia to Soldiers of Law and Order” in Trubnaya square (Moscow); monument to civil aviation pilots who were killed in the Second World War; monument to the doctor Sergei Botkin at Vagankovskoye cemetery (Moscow); sculptural composition “ To Defenders of the Russian Land” in the War Memorial on Poklonnaya hill (Moscow); sculptural compositions “Feat”, “Russia”, “Glory to the Russian Arms”; plaques in memory of celebrated commanders – twice Heroes of the Soviet Union marshals I. Konev, M. Katukov, A. Novikov, eminent Soviet lawyer R. Rudenko, novelist G. Gulia, People’s Artists of the USSR K. Shulzhenko and G. Ulanova, outstanding athlete N. Starostin and others. The reception hall in the Kremlin is adorned with figures of the Russian emperors created by Anatoly Bichukov. The master’s sculptural compositions have found their home in various cities of Russia, as well as in Italy, Germany, Sweden, Cuba, Vietnam.
