White Nights Images 2010: International Biennale of Enamel Art

Tsereteli Art Gallery hosts an International Biennale of Enamel Art: White Nights Images 2010 organized by the Russian Academy of Arts, Organizing Committee of the International Art Project “Contemporary Art Enamel” under the auspices of the St. Petersburg Committee for Culture, the State Hermitage, Artists’ Union of Russia, CKI-WWA International Association of Enamellers. On show are works by enamel artists from Russia, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Japan, Hungary, Lithuania, Rumania.

The Biennale is a culmination of a number of successful exhibitions initiated and organized by a group of enamellists of A. Stieglitz St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Design. The International Biennale of Enamel Art has been conceived as a forum showcasing the main trends and directions in contemporary enamel art, industrial design, as well as the originality of national practices, technical and aesthetic possibilities of enamels. The Biennale is aimed at encouraging the popularization of this kind of art, enamel artists and their works both among professional artists and general public, as well as raising the status of enamel art in Russia and other countries.
