THREE VISIONS OF JAPAN: EXHIBITION OF THE HONORARY MEMBERS OF THE RISSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS IN THE MOSCOW STATE INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

The exhibition “Three Visions of Japan” is being held within JAPAN FEST Festival  in accordance with the agreement between the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and the Russian Academy of Arts. The exhibition presents paintings and graphic works by the Honored Artist of Russia, Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Igor Vikhansky, art photographs by the Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Alexander Panov, as well as masters of ikebana, members of the international organization “Ikebana International”.

Alexander N. Panov was born in 1944, graduated fr om the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1968, knows English and Japanese, Doctor of Political Sciences. Alexander Panov has the rank of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, headed the Russian Embassies in the Republic of Korea, Japan, Norway, worked for Permanent USSR Delegation to the United Nations. In 2006-2010 he worked as a Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Alexander Panov is a chief editor of the magazine “U.S.A- Canada: Economics, Politics”, author of more than 50 monographs and scientific articles dedicated to the United Nations, history and development of relations between Russia and countries of Asian-Pacific area.

Igor S. Vikhansky, Honored Artist of Russia, Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, was born in 1941 in Perm in the family of an artist. In 1971 he graduated from V. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute wh ere he majored in painting under Boris Ioganson. In 1973 Igor Vikhansky became a member of the USSR Union of Artists, since 1972 – frequent participant of regional, republican, All-Russian and international exhibitions.  Igor Vikhansky is a holder of numerous honors and awards in art.
