President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli Appreciated the VIVA ACADEMIA art project of Omsk Regional M. Vrubel Museum of Fine Arts

The Viva Academia art project of Omsk Regional M. Vrubel Museum of Fine Arts in honor of the 250th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Arts has been highly appreciated by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli. He noted the high professional level of the art project which comprised three exhibitions: Russian Graphic Art of the 18th-20th century; Russian Prints of the Late 19th – Early 20th century; Viva Academia! Painting, Sculpture of the 19th-21th
Century. They offered a groundbreaking exploration of the role of the Academy since its foundation. On show were 160 exhibits from the Omsk Regional Museum  collection,  many of them were presented to the public for the first time.

The jubilee of the Russian Academy of Arts  was in the focus of the research conference “Russian Academy of Arts in the culture of Europe and Russia: History and the Present”  held in Omsk in December, 2007.
