THE PRESENTATION OF FIVE MONOGRAPHS–BOOKS DEDICATED TO MONGOLIAN FINE ARTS AT THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS
On January 17, 2024 in the White Hall of the Russian Academy of Arts (21 Prechistenka street) there was a presentation of five monographs-books dedicated to the fine arts of Mongolia and published in Ulan-Bator in 2023, these are ”Social Realism in Mongolian Fine Arts”, “Modernism in Mongolian Fine Arts”, “Traditions of Ilya Repin Academy in Mongolian Fine Arts”, “Works of the Artist and Teacher Z. Uyanga” and “The Artist Who Stepped Over the Centuries. Dardangiyin Amgalan”. The publishing project has resulted fr om the joint work of art historians of the Urals, Siberia and Far East Regional Department of the RAA and D. Amgalan Mongolian Academy of Fine Arts.
The presentation ceremony has been attended by the Cultural Attache of the Mongolian Embassy in Moscow O. Chinbayar; Head of the Mongolian Department of the Department of Asian Countries of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation A.V. Oganov; Director of D. Amgalan Mongolian National University of Arts and Culture, Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Prof. D. Uranchimeg; the leading Mongolian graphic artist, graduate of I. Repin St. Petersburg Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture Uranbileg Zorigt; the First Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts V.G. Kalinin, the Head of the RAA Regional Department of the Urals, Siberia and Far East M.Y. Shishin.
In her presentation speech Mrs. Dorzhsuren Uranchimeg emphasized the significant role of the Russian academic school and the great contribution of Mongolian graduates of I. Repin St. Petersburg Institute to the promotion of fine arts in Mongolia. One of the books entitled “The Traditions of I. Repin Academy in Mongolian Fine Arts” was especially dedicated to this theme. The Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts M.V. Khabarova, who had headed the RAA Regional Department of the Urals, Siberia and Far East for many years, told about her memorable trip to Mongolia with a Buryat delegation 50 years ago and the enduring friendship of Buryat and Mongolian artists. On January 18, 2024 the delegation of Mongolian figures of culture visited S. Stroganov Russian State University for Arts and Industry, wh ere they got acquainted with its rich University Museum and workshops of monumental painting, sculpture, design and others.
