RESULTS OF THE FIRST STAGE OF THE EXHIBITION PROJECT “OH, HAVANA! TRANSIT”: PANEL DISCUSSION AT THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS

On October 25, 2021 at the Russian Academy of Arts (RAA) there was a panel discussion organized by the Painting Department of the Russian Academy of Arts in partnership with its Regional Department of the Urals, Siberia and Far East to show the results of the first stage of the transcontinental art project “Oh, Havana! Transit”. Dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the city of Havana and the 60th jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the USSR (Russian Federation) and the Republic of Cuba, the project includes holding of 18 exhibitions of the same name in major state museums in the Urals, Siberia and Far East region during 2021-2022. The panel discussion has been organized in two formats: direct and on-line. The moderator: Academician of the RAA Vladimir Anisimov.

 

The round table has been addressed by the First Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts Victor Kalinin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Russia Julio Antonio Garmendia Pena, the First Vice-President of the Russia-Cuba Friendship Society Mickhail Makaruk, Director of the Novosibirsk State Art Museum Ekaterina Boldyreva and others. The attendees shared their impressions, opinions and experience, as well as emphasized that the exhibition visited already by more than 43000 people had been of great success with the public in spite of all COVID-19 restrictions.
