The State Russian Museum, Ludwig Museum in the Russian Museum and the Russian Academy of Arts present a major retrospective of works by the People’s Artist of the USSR and the Russian Federation, President of the Russian Academy of Arts, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Zurab Tsereteli. The exhibition entitled Eventual Worlds features more than 200 paintings, graphic sheets and sculptural works of various years showcasing the multisided talent of the world renowned artist.

The artist of great creative potential Zurab Tsereteli actively works and experiments in different types and genres of fine arts. Through the power of his imagination, boundless creative energy the artist creates his worlds and new extraordinary spaces inhabited by characters of everyday life that obtains bright colors and cheerful sounding.

The portrait genre is represented by a vast gallery of the artist’s friends, colleagues,
acquaintances, people from the streets of the old and today’s Tbilisi, these are his series “Old Tiflis”, “Charley Chaplin”, “Circus”, “Dreams” and many others.  Extremely expressive are his graphic works from the series “Sheets from the Album” produced in a unique author’s technique of serigraphy.

The artist’s sculptural compositions prove his perfect skills in working with various materials. Of major interest are his compositions devoted to the distinguished figures of Russian avant-garde – Vasily Kandinsky, Kazimir Malevich, as well as “Pirosmani and Rousseau”, “My Favorite Artists”, etc.

More than ten years ago residents and guests of St. Petersburg had an opportunity to see and appreciate the extremely wide range of the creative work by the master whose public monuments found their home in big and small cities of Russia and other countries. There are his major solo exhibition in the St Petersburg Manezh Central Exhibition Hall in 2005 and a major exhibition project “The Studio of Zurab Tsereteli” in the Mikhailovsky (also known as Engineers’) Castle of the State Russian Museum in 2009. The exhibition of Zurab Tsereteli’s sculptures and enamels “Forms of Art – Color, Light, Volume” in the Constantine Palace in St. Petersburg has been accompanied by his master classes in painting. His solo shows were held in almost 100 cities and won a constant interest of amateurs and connoisseurs of art.
